TEXAS BEST PRACTICES RECOGNIZED

The Rockwall Fire Department has officially been awarded the prestigious “Best Practices Recognized Status” by the Texas Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA). Out of more than 1,500 fire departments across Texas, Rockwall is proud to become only the 36th department to receive this recognition.

The Best Practices Recognition Program is a voluntary accreditation process developed by the TFCA to assist fire departments in meeting the highest professional standards in service to their communities. To earn this status, a department must demonstrate compliance with all 113 Best Practices for Texas Fire Departments, covering essential areas such as:

  • Administration and Organization
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Training
  • Special Operations
  • Record and Informational Management
  • Fire Operations
  • Fire Prevention and Risk Reduction
  • Community Outreach
  • Response Analysis
  • Communications
  • Safety and Health
  • Resources Management
  • Professional Conduct

Achieving Recognized Status signifies that the Rockwall Fire Department meets or exceeds these critical standards, ensuring that our community receives the highest level of fire and emergency services. This distinction reflects the department’s unwavering commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement in emergency response and public safety.

The Best Practices Recognition Program assures our city leaders, elected officials, and citizens that the Rockwall Fire Department operates at the highest level of professionalism.  This accomplishment took over two years of rigorous policy reviews, on-site inspections, staff interviews, and proof of compliance in every operational area. It is a testament to the dedication of our firefighters and leadership team.
