ROCKWALL MAIN STREET
The national Main Street revitalization effort was established in 1980 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to address the challenges facing historic downtown commercial districts. Fast forward 40 years and Main Street America™, a subsidiary of the National Trust, leads a nationwide network of state coordinating programs that support local Main Street programs as they implement the Main Street Approach™ to established revitalization initiatives that transform downtown historic commercial cores. Rockwall was designated an official Texas Main Street City in 2008 by the Texas Historical Commission.
ROCKWALL MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD

They are responsible for establishing the mission and vision and recommending goals, measures and targets of the program. The board follows the four Main Street Program points: organization, promotion, design and economic vitality. Board members represent downtown business and property owners and individuals with an interest in downtown revitalization. The advisory board encourages and facilitates program goals, appoints subcommittees for any subject relating to the program, assists in the development of annual reports on the progress of the program and supports the Main Street Manager.
