Active Construction Roadway
FM 3097 (FM 740 (Ridge Road) to Tubbs Road)
This project is underway. The project consists of expanding the existing two lane asphalt roadway to a four lane divided concrete roadway from FM 740 (Ridge Road) to Tubbs Road. This project is being constructed in phases due to limited right-of-way. It should be completed in the summer of 2018.
FM 549 (SH 205 to SH 276) Rehabilitation Project
TxDOT approved a contract with Ed Bell Construction to rehabilitate the existing asphalt roadway surface of FM 549 from SH 205 to SH 276. This project includes construction for installing two left turn lanes on SH 205 at both intersections of FM 549. Traffic delays should be expected. The project should be complete in late October of 2017.
IH 30/FM 3549 Interchange
This project is being constructed by the TxDOT. Funding for the construction is being provided by Rockwall County and the TxDOT. The project consists of constructing a new interchange at this location with IH30 going over FM 3549. This project will take two years to construct. Traffic delays/detours should be expected. Construction has begun with frontage road reconstruction.
IH30 Ramp Reversal
This project is funded by the City of Rockwall and Rockwall County and being constructed through by TxDOT. This project will reverse the entrance/exit ramp configuration for the two existing ramps on IH 30 just east of SH 205. This project will provide access to John King Boulevard for eastbound traffic and provide access to westbound IH 30 from John King Boulevard without going through the IH 30/SH 205 intersection. The project construction is underway and should be complete in February 2017.
Future Roadway Projects
FM 3549 (IH 30 to SH 66)
This project will consist of improving a two lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane divided concrete roadway. Funding for the engineering design and construction is being provided by Rockwall County and TxDOT. The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2017.
SH 276 (SH 205 to FM 549)
This project will consist of improving a two-lane asphalt roadway to an initial four-lane divided roadway with drainage improvements. The ultimate roadway will be six-lane divided concrete roadway. Funding for the engineering design and construction is being provided by Rockwall County and the TxDOT. This project is currently scheduled for construction in 2018.
